Needs analysis of LGBTI+ Young People in the North East Region – Service Providers Consultation

Uncategorized

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of Outcomers, I am writing to invite you to a consultation about the needs of LGBT+ people in the north east; Louth/ Meath and Cavan/Monaghan area. This consultation is part of a broader project to identify the gaps in services for LGBTI+ young people across the north east and to ascertain how Outcomers could advocate for them amongst partners and mainstream providers.

We are currently seeking the views of a broad range of interest groups from among LGBTI+ people, the community, local political representatives and statutory agencies about the key elements of such a plan and how stakeholders could work more collaboratively to affect change for the betterment of LGBTI+ young people.

It is hoped that one outcome of this need’s analysis would be a 3 year strategy followed by an action plan that will support the development of support services for LGBTI+ young people in the north east to enable LGBTI+ young people to have improved access to a range of social and emotional support services. It is also envisaged that this interaction will provide collaborative opportunities for public, private and community stakeholders as a response to the identified need confirmed by the young people.

It is hoped that as a result of your input that we will have get first-hand information on what exists, whether there are gaps,  what  supports you would like to see in place for young LGBT+ people and what (if any) role, you can play in that.

Aibhlín McCrann, Communiqué International is undertaking the work on our behalf.

I would appreciate if you could confirm your attendance on Monday March 9th at 10am in Carrickmascross Workhouse, Shercock Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

Kind regards,

Bernardine Quinn

Manager
