AIM Young Adult Group

A Safe Space for LGBT 18 - 25 year olds, meeting from 8pm - 11pm in Outcomers on Thursdays.

An alternative choice for hanging out with friends and meeting new people.

AIM stands for 'as i am', and is a relaxed and easy-going space for young lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the NE Region of Ireland.

Our centre is in the renovated Coach House at the back of Lavery's Solicitors, opposite St Patrick's Cathedral on Roden Place. We're down the lane with the big wooden gates - it's very discrete, so you can come and go as you please.

Our Drop-In room has couches, tv, dvd's, tea & coffee, etc. Usually we sit and chat - you'd be surprised what a relief it is to know that everyone in the centre knows where you're coming from. We'll also be looking at opportunities for trips and activities...

AIM is NOT a support group as if there was something wrong with you - if you drop in to the centre on a Thursday evening you will not be expected to share your life story or join in all the conversations. You can take your time getting to know other people, and maybe deciding if you want to get involved with our ongoing activities like organising Dundalk LGBT Pride. We open at 8pm, but you can arrive and leave whenever you like. Trained staff are on hand if you do have a challenge in your life that you would like some advice or direct support.

Our Drop In room has couches, tv, dvd's, some games consoles and wi-fi broadband. We also have space outside to hang about, and a small garden at the back. It's a centre that's for the LGBT community - everyone you meet here will understand exactly what's going on for you, and may even be able to offer advice... or at least a cup of tea.

If you want more info you can ring John on 086 1625030, or e-mail youth@outcomers.org.
