A Brief History Of Dundalk Outcomers

1995

A group of gay and lesbian people from Dundalk began meeting and support meetings were held monthly in the Imlanu Centre.

Dundalk Outcomers formed to develop a Lesbian, Gay and Bi-sexual support group for the North-East. We went on some research visits to other gay / lesbian groups throughout Ireland to gain an understanding of how other LGB groups functioned. Training of members began.

1996

We secured funding through Area Development Management (AMD), Combat Poverty Agency, Social Support Programme for Peace and Reconcilitation.
We started our 24 hour telephone information line.
